2024 Dragon Boat Festival
During our annual Dragon Boat Festival, we hosted many different activities, explored and tasted delicious cultural dishes, and sponsored many students! The Chinese Dragon Boat Festival celebrates a mouthwatering dish called 粽子 [ZongZi], made from steamed sticky rice wrapped in bamboo leaves. This dish often has many different varieties depending on different Chinese provinces and overall personal preference. Our festival also featured activities including sports such as volleyball and table tennis, as well as a place to pick up free traditional Chinese clothes. We also held a conference for middle schoolers and high schoolers to discuss high school life and college preparations with experts and experienced college students. Our event was extremely successful and we hope you can all join our next year’s Dragon Boat Festival!
Tamaques School’s 2nd Annual Multicultural Festival
We represented China at Tamaques School’s 2nd annual multicultural festival. We crafted a poster board to showcase various facets of Chinese culture and language. We prepared traditional winter snacks such as “sugar-coated fruits” and rice crackers. Additionally, attendees had the opportunity to experience Chinese calligraphy and shuttlecock. Both our food and activities received positive feedback.
